Joy Cowley is a prolific, widely published and much-celebrated writer of fiction for adults and children. She was awarded Distinguished Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit for services to children's literature in 2005 and a Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in fiction in 2010. Julia is a former news journalist with experience in New Zealand and overseas, now working from home in Greytown.
She writes for magazines, businesses, charities and national organisations. She also writes creative copy for artistic clients. Email her for a sample.

Julia Wall is a children's author. Her background is in educational publishing and she has written or edited more than 500 books for children in schools. Julia is currently working on a YA novel.

Karl du Fresne

I am a freelance journalist living in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand. I write about all sorts of stuff: politics, the media, music, wine, films, cycling and anything else that piques my interest - even sport. I've been in journalism for more than 40 years and like many journalists I know a little bit about a lot of things and probably not enough about anything.

Kokomai Creative Festival – 16 – 25 October 2015

Kokomai is the Wairarapa’s very own world class arts festival, held biennially over 10 days in October, right across our region.

Madeleine Slavick

Madeleine is an author and photographer who was has published several books of non-fiction, poetry and photography. She has exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions.

I am an artist. I work in oil paints on canvas and in graphite on paper. I exhibit in group exhibitions regularly at Aratoi Museum, Victoria Gallery and Carterton Events Centre
