Ngaio Press has published over 30 books, with an emphasis on history: business, social, musical, colonial and military.
Ngaio Press was formed in Wellington in 1997 and moved to Martinborough two years ago. We’ve published over 30 books, with an emphasis on history: business, social, musical, colonial and military. (Weekend Herald, 23/4/11: "Wellington's Ngaio Press has built an impressive list of titles focusing on New Zealand History.")
Our principal is John MacGibbon, who is also a widely published writer in both journalism and books. He has written or contributed to six books and is currently working on a pictorial history of Martinborough in conjunction with Mate Higginson, the Wairarapa Archive and Fraser Books. As an author he understands writing and publishing from both sides of the fence. He is also a skilled graphic designer.
